We travelled with Chamee for 11 days from 2-12 Feb as part of our 3 week honeymoon and it was a delight!

Before
For our honeymoon we wanted to have a bit more comfort and less stress. Hiring a driver with a car made the trip so much easier and at a reasonable price. The communication with Chamee before the holiday was great, either by email or WhatsApp. We sent him our proposed itinerary and he provided his suggestions which were a great help. He even managed to pre-buy the elusive tickets for the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella for us!

Car / Driving
Chamee greeted us directly at the airport with flowers and a banner which was very welcome after a long flight. His car was exactly like the photos. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. He even had Wifi in the car for us and bottles of water. Chamee’s driving was very smooth to the point we were able to sleep easily in the car and we always felt safe.

Organising tours
Chamee helped organising small tours when we asked. He has very good knowledge of safaris and has good contacts with local drivers for this. He also came with us on safaris and tours, being a tour-guide with a personal touch. As part of our honeymoon, he rang ahead every hotel so they would prepare the room nicely for us, which was such a wonderful surprise every time.

During
We spent 11 days with Chamee doing a combination of cultural site seeing, trekking, safaris, and some chilling of course! Although Chamee was with us most of the time, he also knew when to give us our own space. Chamee being a local was a great benefit, such as knowing where to get local cashew nuts or fresh fruit or eat like the locals at local spots. He has been in in the tourist industry for over 10 years and has a lot of experience and it shows when travelling with him. It was fantastic to chat with Chamee and get to know a local Sri Lankan and talk about different world topics. Chamee definitely took away the stress of organising a holiday and was always available, regardless of early morning or late evening. Chamee is also super reliable and punctual. We travelled with Chamee for 11 days (he dropped us off in Tangalla) and then did some chilling along the coast by ourselves. But we arranged for Chamee to pick us up from our last hotel in Bentota to take us to the airport at 5:30am, which was a nice ending to our trip.

In summary we loved Sri Lanka… a lot. We had an awesome time with Chamee, he was kind, informative and fun to be around. We would highly recommend him to anyone else traveling to Sri Lanka, no matter for how long… we will definitely be back!
