This was our second trip with Chaminda from See Sri Lanka tours.
We booked him last year at our first Sri Lankan roadtrip with our 2 boys (11y and 14y), as he was highly recommended by a colleague of mine. Still we were a bit nervous before departure. “Will we like him? Will he like us? Is his English ok? What if there are awkward silences ? Will we have enough privacy”….. In hindsight, we shouldn’t have worried at all as it was the most perfect experience.

This year we were completely relaxed and even exited to see our old friend back. We kept a bit in touch when we went back to Belgium and the kids were counting the days to see Chaminda again.
Chaminda has a very luxurious van, airconditioned and kept in a perfect state. He is a safe driver. But he is so much more than a driver. He is proud of his country and shows you around. He lets you taste new fruits : some delicious like rambutan and mango, some awful like woodapple 😂.
He takes care of his own accommodation and meals and will never intrude your family time. We however invited him along a few times because we had such a good time.
He is very kind and thoughtfull. Chaminda fixed me some very hard to find Cola Zero bottles, without asking for it, for my Zero addiction. He also knew our boys wanted a road map and a little flag of Sri Lanka and surprised them with it at the end of our trip.
We would recommend Chaminda to everyone we know. You should book him all the time, except when we need him of course, then he is ours! Would fight for him. 😂
Also want to point out that Sri Lanka is perfectly safe to travel at this time.
Our son was in tears when he had to say goodbye!
