We can highly recommend Chaminder as an excellent driver and guide having spent 5 days with him on a tour of Central Sri Lanka. We are a family of 4 with two boys aged 12 and 10. Chaminder began the trip as our tour guide, but after 5 days we considered him a dear friend who we continue to talk about and think about. He is a lovely, intelligent and genuine person. He speaks incredible English, has such a knowledge of the country and (during the time we went) an interesting insight into the politics of the country. We felt safe when we were with him (to the extent when we had to leave him, our boys kept saying they wished Chaminder was here!). During the time we were there, there were petrol shortages and the country was going through a tough time but Chaminder had everything under control. My wife and I travelled to Sri Lanka 12 years ago and our previous driver was so poor in comparison to the first class experience we had with Chaminder. Chaminder arranged our train tickets from Nuwara Eliya to Ella and even after the tour ended he continued to help with our onward travel arrangements. We cannot recommend him highly enough and miss our Sri Lankan friend.
