Tour with Shan at Amazing Sunshine Holidays. Vehicle type Honda Fit Shuttle
Sri Lanka was probably one of the best countries I have visited by far, but it wouldn’t have been the best without the help from our dear friend Shan. Shan is one of those individuals that just knows how to make your traveling experience awesome. From the time he picked us up from Bandaranaike international airport at arrivals to the time he dropped us to the departures when we left. Shan was incredible, his professionalism and his warm, caring funny personality made our time in Sri Lanka a memory that will never be forgotten.
Shan gave us the ultimate experience that is very rare to find on such a short trip. During the 8 days we saw the country with all its greatness. From seeing lovely historic temples to fine dining in local and luxury restaurants. Not to mention the waterfalls and lovely beaches we visited and enjoying late night cocktails and desserts with Shan which made those evenings wonderful. His personality is contagious you cannot help but laugh with him, he really knows how to keep you entertained. There was never a dull moment. However, he was always respectful in offering to give us alone time when needed. To be honest we really enjoyed his company daily and often invited him to join us for lunch and dinners. This was also a bonus because in some places the language barrier was difficult, so Shan would often translate our meal requirements for us. This was so helpful.
Shan drove us everywhere – more places than we anticipated which was a bonus. We visited the Sigiriya Rock which was a breath-taking view. We didn’t climb on this occasion but we appreciated the scenery. Shan then took us to Kandy which was a vibrant city with lots to do. Whilst in Kandy Shan suggest me and my girlfriend to try a cooking class via the local community. I am not a chef but after that class I felt like I could match Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen. The experience was awesome the food we made and cooked was exquisite. We learnt so much about Sri Lankan food and the culture. Shan always had great suggestions.
After our night in Kandy Shan took us to an area called Nuwara Eliya this place was one of the highlights for me. The views, the waterfalls, the mountains were beautiful very scenic. Whilst enjoying this lovely place Shan took us to a tea plantation. My girlfriend loves tea and got to try local tea and watched how it’s made in the factory.
Next stop was a place called Ella. Shan was so kind and got us 1st class train tickets which was such a kind gesture. Shan dropped us to the train station got us all booked for the train to Ella. The thing that was most rewarding about our train journey was Shan kept our suitcases and belongings safe with him and met us at Ella train station by the time we arrived. A true gentleman I’d say. The stunning views with all kinds of exotic wildlife, waking up to birds singing with a beautiful sunrise will be treasured forever. Thanks to Shan.
